The Senior Accounting Analyst - US Finance supports all aspects of accounting, analysis, financial reporting and administration, for the US Traditional business segment.
This Senior Analyst provides accounting support for all new and/or proposed transactions that are the responsibility of the US Finance department, and supports an effective and compliant internal control environment for the administration and accounting of all US Finance processes and procedures.
Responsibilities Performs month-end financial reporting functions, which may include:
preparation of general ledger uploads; reconciling various ledger accountsupdating, reconciling and recording financial resultsanalysis, compiling and reporting of data based on a US GAAP and Statutory basisreconciliation of various accountsPerforms monthly administration tasks which include settlement processing, confirmation of supporting data, treaty compliance, documentation, recording and reconciling information to the general ledger as applicable.
Identifies, performs research, and reports on differences between actual and expected financial results for assigned transactions.
Assists with set-up activities/processes for new deals, including updating various accounting systems.
Works and collaborates with other functional and corporate areas in RGA to achieve accuracy, efficiency, and effective accounting practices and procedures and responds to requests from other functional areas on various inquiries.
Assists with report development and/or updates; addresses financial reporting related questions raised by business unit, area, or function.
Shares technical expertise with others; recommends process improvements, provides functional advice and/or training as needed.
Serves as liaison to other business units, areas and functions as needed.
Maintains SOX documentation and provides as needed; may assist with year-end audit and other internal audits as needed.
Requirements Education and ExperienceRequired:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience8
years accounting or auditing experience with GAAP reporting and general ledger application experiencePreferred:
Progress towards CPAPeopleSoft or other accounting software applications experienceInsurance or reinsurance experience, including in Statutory accountingSkills and AbilitiesRequired:

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $82,790 - 112,790 per year.
