The Manager, Investment Accounting manages the reporting functions of investments, which includes preparation and review of statutory reporting, investment footnotes, MD&A, audit support, and internal reporting.
Manages the research, review, and analysis of investment related data/reports to ensure the accuracy of financial results and analytics, as well as working on special projects.
Responsibilities Performs detailed review of analysis of investment data/reports; provides solutions to resolve issues.
Gathers information to accurately understand and summarize issues, evaluates risk and challenges, works collaboratively to propose recommendations and works to implement approved changes.
Conveys updates to IT and supervises testing of results to support financial reporting.
Mentors associates and provides guidance on associate development.
Fosters a positive and engaged work environment.
Provides support to Director and Executive Director, including special projects and overseeing work of the Investment Accounting Analyst.
Works with Director of Investment Accounting and others within department to develop areas of focus for accounting, process, or reporting improvements, including data related projects.
Coordinates and summarizes investment information for internal and external examiners.
Works with other functional areas to achieve efficient and effective investment reporting practices and procedures and responds to requests from other functional areas on various inquiries.
Performs accounting functions and maintains and prepares month-end, quarter-end and annual reports for assigned asset and investment accounting areas.
Ensures compliance with GAAP, STAT, Tax and IFRS guidelines.
Requirements Education and ExperienceRequired:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience8
years accounting or auditing experience including 1-3 years insurance accounting experience (statutory)2-5 years supervisory/management experiencePreferred:
Master's Degree, CPAProgress towards FLMIPublic accounting experience.
Advanced experience with Statutory, GAAP or IFRS accountingInsurance/Reinsurance financial reporting experienceSkills and AbilitiesRequired :
Advanced Excel and basic Word skills.

State of Colorado:
This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act.
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $82,790 TO $124,985 per year.
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location.
In addition, RGA compensation includes an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and maintains a full range of competitive health and life insurance, retirement and other employee benefits.
