This is a Remote Position Overview:
Serves as on-site Supervisor for the coding function and coding staff positioned at their local facility.
Ensures that the local coding team is meeting all coding goals, following established policies and procedures, and facilitates cohesiveness between the local coders and the Ministry based Mercy Coding Services Department.
Supports the Director of Mercy Coding Services in productivity monitoring, coder scheduling, coding edit/failed claims resolution, auditing, and education, as well as ensuring that coding meets all regulatory and compliance guidelines.
Qualifications:
Experience:
At least 5 years of coding experience in ICD-10-CM diagnosis/procedure coding and/or HCPCS/CPT procedure coding in an acute care setting.
Education:
High School Diploma Certifications:
Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
Other:
Working knowledge and high-level experience with the ICD-10-CM and HCPCS/CPT coding classification systems.
Working knowledge of MS-DRGs, POAs, HACs, MCCs, CCs, APCs, Modifiers, etc.
as applicable to the MS-DRG and APC payment systems.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
