Job Description This is not an official description, but represents major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform.
You could expect the position of checker to include the following:
DUTIES:
oProvide friendly and courteous service to customers oRegular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
oGreet customers prior to checking their order oCheck out customer's purchases accurately oIdentify and know produce items and be able to properly use produce and product codes oDistinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons oProcess manufacturer coupons oCollect correct amount due from customer oUse proper procedure of accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options oComplete register record accurately oPractice and maintain cash security oBag customer orders oChange register receipt and coupon machine tapes oOther duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management TRAINING Training will be provided at store level.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Bending Stooping Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours) Additional Requirements - Internal candidates:
Store/Facility Teammates:
minimum of six months employment with Schnucks.
Store Support Center Teammates:
minimum of one year employment with Schnucks.
Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
