Research Scientist for Chesterfield, MO to provide program leadership, planning, deployment & execution of nursery & field research experiments & statistical analyses to support QTL and gene discovery, trait selection & development projects for soybeans; develop trait assays; collect phenotypic data; perform data analysis; report research results; participate in multi-disciplinary teams to implement marker-assisted breeding methodologies. Requires Ph.D. in Plant or Animal Science or closely-related field; 2 yrs. post-doctoral experience conducting statistical data analysis of large-scale, high-dimensional biological & genomic data; applying quantitative & population genetics approaches to identify disease resistant QTLs & genes for marker-assisted breeding of disease resistant products; using SAS or R to perform quantitative analysis; interacting with interdisciplinary teams to generate genomic & phenotypic data; and presenting & interpreting statistical analysis reports to leadership team for decision-making. 10% domestic travel required.
