Theater Technician/ Theater/ Chesterfield/ Part Time
POSITION
Summary:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Under the direction of the Theater Technical Director, and Artistic Director the Theater Technician performs routine recurring and non-recurring functions related to theater operations.
Essential Functions:
1.
Actively Promote theatre safety and policies2.
Build and repair props and sets as needed3.
Build and paint sets and props as needed for Y-rep shows and client rental functions4.
Supervise and assist clients during scheduled periodic rentals5.
Will operate sound and lighting equipment as needed and assist the client in any other aspects of production.
6.
Will arrive prior to client arrival to insure the facility is unlocked and needed equipment is set up and ready for use7.
Supervise volunteer crew of all ages during set builds and work calls8.
Keep backstage and storage areas clean9.
Set up and tear down and move sets and props as needed for daily theater operations10.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
11.
Positively interact with members, staff and volunteers.
12.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
